Here’s how to see the “hybrid” total solar eclipse on April 20 live online.

Some regions of the globe will be treated to an incredibly uncommon “hybrid” solar eclipse tomorrow (April 20), where it will transition from annular to total eclipse and then back to annular once more. Here’s a guide on how to stream the eclipse live from wherever you are.

When is the solar ecliptic?

Astronomy website In the Sky reports that the eclipse will begin at 7.06 AM IST and last till 12.29 PM IST. Unfortunately, viewers in India won’t be able to see it; instead, only viewers in Western Australia, East Timor, and Eastern Indonesia will be able to.

What will occur throughout the eclipse?

The Moon will pass in front of the Sun and the Earth during the eclipse. A total solar eclipse will also occur in the regions of the Earth that are in the shadow of the Moon. However, there are instances when the Moon is too far from the Sun to fully obscure it. An annular eclipse is what is experienced in this situation.

Due to the curvature of the Earth’s surface, eclipses can transition from total to annular and vice versa. The eclipse that will occur tomorrow is a hybrid, as this one is.

How to watch the solar eclipse online

You can still view the eclipse using the live streams provided below if you are not in a region of the earth where it can be seen, whether it be total, partial, or annular.

Streaming of the solar eclipse by NASA

On April 20, NASA will begin distributing telescope views of the eclipse along with analysis from NASA specialists at 8 AM IST. You can view it at the following URL.

The solar eclipse is being streamed live at Time and Date.

Perth Observatory and Time and Date are working together to stream the “Ningaloo” eclipse live. You can watch the live stream below beginning on April 20 at 7 AM IST.

When the solar eclipse occurs, Indianexpress.com will also have live coverage of it. Our live coverage, which can be viewed in the Science section, will begin at 6.30 AM IST.
