Players of Pokemon Go have recently revealed their findings, according to which there is a 1% probability that Larvesta would hatch from an egg.

The researchers entrusted with determining these low rates said that, on average, it took 246 eggs—representing a distance of 1,136 kilometers—for one Larvesta to hatch. The 400 candies needed to evolve one Larvesta into a Volcarona would then need an average player to travel almost 19,000 kilometers.

Others who were fans left comments on the site lamenting the figures. While one individual just typed “criminal,” another claimed that the low rate was “hitting on the standard shiny rate.” Some participants seized the chance to share their bad luck with others.

One fortunate Pokemon Go user commented on their “hatched one on my 4th event egg” and that they “should buy a lottery ticket.” Looks like you should buy at least four, someone said in response, while another person added, “No point in buying one, already used up your luck.”

I hope Niantic pays attention to the opinions of its player base. Many people made outright criticisms of the creators, claiming things like “This company is choking the life out of this game” and that the low capture rate was “A new low, even for Niantic standards.”

This news comes in the wake of the company’s contentious wage offer and other in-game errors like the Bundle Box pricing, both of which have diminished the player base’s goodwill and added to the increasing community frustration.
