The manager of Sheffield Wednesday, Darren Moore, claims that going to Sheffield after assuming the position in 2021 was the right choice.

Moore initially commuted into and out of the city, arriving early and departing later, but quickly came to the conclusion that it would be better if he uprooted and moved.

Moore says he now feels “connected” to the Owls fans who chant his name after previously praising his interactions with them on a regular basis.

Moore admitted to the journalists, “I absolutely feel linked here. “No doubt about it. After around three or four months on the job when I first arrived, I announced that I was relocating to Sheffield. I relocated to a city. I had the impression that I needed to be more integrated with the city when I was working here and spending the evenings in the office before returning home.

“I can declare with all sincerity that I have loved living in the city. One of my best actions brought about that relationship, making it one of my best actions. Because I have visited the shops and all the other locations where the supporters may be found, I am able to speak persuasively about the fervent base of support for these followers.

“I guess I can’t hide my size when I go around Sheffield, so when people see me, it’s not like I can throw on a hat and walk around… I appreciate the help, but it has always been mutual. I have seen the supporters come to me and then I have come back to them.

A spot in the Championship is on the line when Moore and his team face Barnsley in a few hours at Wembley, and about 44,000 of those fans will be there to support them.
