Hike to Angels Landing (Zion)

Hike to Angels Landing (Zion)
Angels Landing is the undisputed king of Utah hikes. Make this your one and only hike in the national parks.

It’s an epic and terrifying trail that takes you up the side of a steep sandstone mountain, with chains to grab for safety and incredible views of Zion National Park on all sides. Permits are required beginning in 2022.

The Angels Landing chain section is particularly dangerous, and there have been a number of falling deaths on this hike over the years, though it’s perfectly safe if you stick to the trail.

The Angels Landing trail is not for everyone, but if you enjoy adventure, photography, and a good adrenaline rush, add it to your bucket list!

The final Angels Landing view provides a 360-degree panorama of Zion Canyon, including the tiny roads and shuttle buses below, and you can even see the massive peak you just climbed.

It’s without a doubt one of the best views in Zion National Park, but it’s also one of my favourite views from any hike we’ve ever taken.

At times, the trail will be only a few feet wide, forcing you to hug the mountainside. This section does not have chains throughout, but the most dangerous sections do for your safety.
