Posing for the magazine’s annual swimsuit issue, according to a television personality, is “kind of historic” and her pal Snoop Dogg will find it “fantastic.”

When she posed for Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit issue at the age of 81, Martha Stewart set a record for the magazine’s oldest cover model.

One of four cover models for this year’s issue, which honours strong women who “live in a world where they feel no limitations, internally or externally,” is the television personality and cook. Actress Megan Fox, model Brooks Nader, and musician Kim Petras were the other models.

“When I found out that Sports Illustrated Swimsuit would feature me on the cover, I thought, ‘Oh, well that’s really good.’ In an interview regarding the cover, Stewart claimed, “I’m going be the oldest guy ever on the Sports Illustrated cover.

And although I don’t often consider my age, I did consider that I should look excellent because this is potentially historic.

Ruven Afanador took Stewart’s photos in the Dominican Republic, and she was questioned about what her friend and regular working partner Snoop Dogg would think of the cover. “Snoop is going to just think that it is fantastic,” she said.

With Stewart’s cover photo, she has surpassed Elon Musk’s mother, model Maye Musk, who posed for Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit edition in 2022 at the age of 74.

“When you’re through changing, you’re through,” has always been my credo, so I reasoned, “Why not be up for this opportunity of a lifetime?” In a post on Instagram, Stewart. No matter what stage of life you are in, I hope this cover encourages you to challenge yourself and attempt new things.

Stewart, dubbed the “OG of influencers” by Sports Illustrated, gained notoriety in the 1980s when, following her success as a chef, she began to produce cookbooks and make television appearances. Stewart has now published 99 books, hosted numerous cookery programmes, started her own lifestyle publication, and created her own apparel, food, and home product lines.

Stewart has never in her life allowed her circumstances to determine her fate, according to MJ Day, editor-in-chief of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. She has evolved with the times, always staying one step ahead, it seems, to create a vast commercial empire.

In addition to model Leyna Bloom, who made history in 2021 by becoming the first trans person of colour to ever feature in Sports Illustrated, Petras is the only trans woman to have ever appeared on the swimsuit cover of the magazine.

In a video about her cover photo, Petras stated, “It’s about what you make of life, regardless of your gender, sexuality, or any of that stuff.” “What’s inside of you matters,”
