Rep. James Comer suggests that the revelation of bank records will be the Biden White House’s “judgment day”
President Biden will allegedly face a “judgment day” on Wednesday when the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer, discloses financial records that purport to show “wire transfers from adversaries around the world” coming to the president’s family members.
The Kentucky Republican teased on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Tuesday that “tomorrow, for the first time, the American people are gonna see actual bank records that show wire transfers from adversaries around the world into a web of LLCs that were owned or controlled by the Bidens and then those transfers were made back into the Biden family accounts.”
We’ll find out tomorrow, Jesse, if Joe Biden was sincere when he claimed that his family never received any funding from China. Tomorrow will reveal whether Joe Biden knew about the economic operations of his family, despite his repeated claims to the contrary. So, in my opinion, tomorrow will serve as the Biden White House’s “judgement day,” Comer continued.
Comer will release a letter on Wednesday outlining the current state of the GOP-led inquiry into the 80-year-old president’s involvement in his family’s overseas income.
The results from four bank subpoenas filed by the House Oversight Committee are anticipated to be detailed in the memo and a presentation by Comer on Wednesday morning. They will also clarify how money from foreign nationals was channeled to members of the Biden family.
The next stages in the probe by the congressman’s panel are also anticipated to be disclosed.
Comer stated on Tuesday that the banks filed suspicious activity reports with the Treasury Department because they were aware that the financial transactions that will be made public on Wednesday weren’t “normal business activity.”
He also compared what his committee found to the operations of a “organized crime unit.”
“They [the Bidens] made this as difficult as they could. Comer claimed that the goal was to make it as difficult as possible to both deceive the IRS and track down the originator of the message.
“And they didn’t send money directly to the Biden families; instead, they would send money from one LLC to another before sending money to the Bidens’ LLC. Even though I’ve worked in banking for a long time, I’ve never witnessed action like this. They were unmistakably attempting to hide the source of the funds, and they were undoubtedly making an effort to defend “the big guy,” he continued.
The chairman of the Oversight Committee stated that although he has not yet determined what “credible business” the Biden family was operating, it appears to him that “the businesses were shell companies — set up to launder money from foreign nationals into the Biden family’s back pocket.”
Comer has also given the FBI until noon to submit an informant file, in which Biden is said to have accepted bribes while serving as vice president.
In an email sent to Geoffrey Berman, then-US Attorney for New York, on October 4, 2018, former federal prosecutor Bud Cummins claimed to have witnesses with information that Biden had “exercised influence to protect” the employer of his son in Ukraine “in exchange for payments to Hunter Biden, Devon Archer, and Joe Biden.”
On Tuesday, Cummins informed Watters that middlemen had told him that Yuriy Lutsenko, the former prosecutor general of Ukraine, had “hard evidence” in the form of ledgers pertaining to “money transfers, money laundering,” and “eyewitnesses who were part of the transactions.”
“They allegedly had eyewitnesses who would claim that they were directed by Obama administration officials to tamper or alter some evidence related to Paul Manafort,” Cummins said to Watters.
Having heard nothing back from Justice Department representatives, Cummins claimed to have “chose to drop it,” but he just learned that Apple had been served with a subpoena by the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York in 2019 requesting his information.
“It seems kind of perverse to me to only investigate me and turn a blind eye to potential evidence of some pretty serious stuff,” Cummins said, adding that he believes his report was ignored because of a “highly politicized DOJ and a highly politicized FBI.”
