The pilot of an IAF MiG-21 fighter plane successfully ejects after crashing in Rajasthan, killing three people
In the early hours of Monday in the northern Rajasthani town of Bahlol, a MiG-21 fighter jet collided with a house, killing three civilians.
A helicopter from the Indian Air Force was dispatched right away to save the injured pilot. The pilot reported a technical issue shortly after the plane took off from Suratgarh Air Force Station.
“An IAF MiG-21 crashed while on a routine training mission close to Suratgarh. The pilot safely ejected, suffering only minor wounds. To determine the accident’s cause, an investigation has been launched, according to a statement from the IAF.
Sadly, three lives were lost after an aircraft debris landed on a home in Bahlol Nagar, Hanumangarh District, according to the air force. The IAF expresses grief for the lives lost and extends its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, according to the statement.
The collision site was crowded with residents who informed the Pilibanga police.
