Rollover incident on Interstate 15 near Bonsall results in 2 fatalities, including an infant, and 4 injuries
In a rollover accident on Interstate 15 in Pala Mesa on Sunday evening, two people—including an infant—were murdered and four others were hurt.
Around 3:13 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a collision in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 in the Pala Mesa region.
As soon as the police arrived, they discovered that the crash was really closer to the State Route 76/Interstate 15 merge area at Bonsal than was initially thought.
A white Tesla, a black car, and a black pickup truck were all involved in the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol. The black automobile was smoking, and the pickup had overturned and fallen on its roof.
One adult and one child perished there, according to Captain John Choi of the North County Fire Protection District.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Hunter Gerber of CBS 8, the pickup truck left the road, went through a fence, and then into the southbound lanes of traffic while it was driving on the road next to southbound Interstate 15. The cause for this is unknown.
The implicated Tesla and a black sedan were struck by the vehicle right away.
“A very young juvenile” and an adult female perished at the site, according to Officer Gerber.
Officer Gerber said, “DUI could have been a factor in the collision, but officials won’t know until a toxicology report.”
The pickup truck driver was sent with serious injuries to a local hospital.
Live footage from Caltrans’s motorway cameras revealed that southbound traffic was being rerouted onto the shoulder and away from the lanes.
The cause of the collision is being looked into.
As far north as Murrieta, southbound traffic conditions through Pala Mesa were disrupted.
Up to around 11 p.m. on Sunday, lanes were anticipated to be affected or closed.
