Immediately following the RCB vs. LSG game, the BCCI took action against Avesh Khan for throwing his helmet; du Plessis was fined
Avesh Khan of the Lucknow Super Giants was censured for violating the Code of Conduct during the RCB vs. LSG IPL 2023 match in Bengaluru.
During the final ball of the IPL 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bengaluru, Avesh Khan reacted aggressively. The BCCI took note of this and penalised the LSG bowler. On Monday, he was determined to have violated the IPL’s Code of Conduct. Avesh Khan of the Lucknow Super Giants has received criticism for transgressing the code of conduct. Avesh accepted the punishment for the level 1 offence 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. The Match Referee’s judgement is final and binding for Level 1 Code of Conduct violations, according to an IPL release.
When No. 11 Avesh Khan took the pitch to bat in the under pressure scenario, LSG needed one run off the final pitch. The seasoned Jaydev Unadkat made a straightforward catch to long on because he couldn’t maintain composure during the previous ball. Avesh now had the responsibility of finding a way to steal a single and bring his team home.
Yet the drama had only barely begun. RCB medium pacer Harshal Patel attempted to cause a run-out when he saw non-striker Ravi Bishnoi leave for a single, but somehow missed the stumps. Bishnoi lived. But, the young LSG leg-spinner was unaffected and proceeded to gain another advantage. This time, Harshal did not attempt a second run-out and instead bowled a typical delivery. Avesh swung desperately for the ball, but he was unable to connect with it. After observing Bishnoi’s frantic attempt to smuggle in a bye, Avesh also left. Dinesh Karthik, the RCB custodian, missed the first opportunity to collect the ball, giving Bishnoi and Avesh enough time to make it home and give LSG a thrilling victory.

Avesh reached the non-end striker’s and immediately threw his helmet to the ground. This specific action is what prompted the BCCI’s reprimand.
After the thrilling RCB vs. LSG match, disciplinary action was not brought against Avesh. Once his team was deemed to have maintained a slow overrate, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis was assessed a punishment of 12 lakh.
“The Royal Challengers Bangalore were penalised for playing with a slow over-rate against the Lucknow Super Giants in the 15th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Monday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
“Captain Faf du Plessis was fined 12 lakh,” the IPL stated, “since it was the team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences.”
