Two United States Army helicopters collided during a training mission over Kentucky. According to the New York Times, the incident happened on Wednesday. However, according to Governor Andy Beshear’s tweet, fatalities in the accident are expected. “We’ve got some tough news out of Fort Campbell, with early reports of a helicopter crash and fatalities are expected,” Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin tweeted. “Please pray for all those affected,” he added. An investigation is currently underway to look into the details of the crash.
The two helicopters involved in the crash are HH-60 Black Hawk helicopters from the US military fleet. According to reports, the assault helicopters were from the 101st Airborne Division (the army’s only assault division), which is based at Fort Campbell.
