Russia-Ukraine War: According to the general, Russia will most likely attack in the late summer or early fall of this year.

Former Ukrainian general Viktor Muzhenko has warned that Russia may launch a new offensive this summer. Viktor Muzhenko previously served as the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ chief of general staff. In an interview with the Ukrainian newspaper Fakty, the general stated that he believes Russia will attack in the late summer or early fall of this year, implying an August offensive.

“Given Russian symbolism and their ideologues’ ‘grandfathers fought,’ ‘we can do it again,’ there may be plans that fit into such an ideological wrapper.” “This is how the situation develops,” the general explained.

Viktor Muzhenko also stated that August is the most likely month because Russia could use it to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk, a pivotal moment in Russian history during World War II. However, the general also stated that “nothing special will happen this year.”

“I believe there is still some resource there.” The question is, when will it be accumulated to the point where they can carry out some more or less significant operation, which they desperately need given their defeats and inability to demonstrate even tactical victories in a year?” According to Viktor Muzhenko.

Russia may still be able to make a comeback in the war because its troops have not “exhausted their potential,” he added. This comes as Russian forces have struggled to win victories in recent months against Ukraine.
