The photographer praised King Charles for “doing everything in his power to make a difference.”

When referring to his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, a royal photographer who has been photographing King Charles III since 1977 revealed the monarch’s loving name. In his new photo book ‘Behind the Crown: My Life Photographing the Royal Family,’ Arthur Edwards stated that Camilla “brings out the best” in King Charles.

King Charles “always” refers to Camilla as “my darling wife,” according to Arthur Edwards, who adds that Camilla “has such a wonderful sense of fun” and “has brought a spring to Charles’ step.”

“I remember going to a market north of Los Angeles, and someone gave her a peach or something, and [Camilla] started to eat it, which no royal would do,” the photographer recalled of Charles and Camilla’s first tour of the United States.

“However, she did. She had a great time. ‘Diana would never do that,’ I remember thinking. But she was unique. And she gave Prince Charles a whole new meaning,” Arthur Edwards added.

“He’s a much happier person now.” He’s pleased. And he always refers to her as “my darling wife,” according to the photographer.

“For 70 years, he waited to become King, but he wasn’t going to sort of sit there and play backgammon and shoot champagne,” the photographer said of King Charles. He was determined to make a difference, and he succeeded. He’s a trailblazer for the underdog. If a big supermarket was coming to a village and destroying all the local shops, he’d fight for the village.”

The coronation of King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla will take place in May of this year.
